Good morning, fam.
I tell you all the time that you are worthy of love and respect. In fact, you wake up every morning worthy of them both.
What I want to talk about today is the other people in your world.
While 100% true that you are worthy, no one, and I mean no one, can be forced to do so. Not even those who you’d think should: parents, partners, siblings, friends, etc.
Honestly, we all know someone who was:
raised by someone(s) who didn't care,
unwanted beyond a trophy to be held up to show how 'great' they were,
abused and not believed by people they trusted,
a soul left unnurtured, abandoned in the shadows
Hell, I just need a mirror.
My point? We're all struggling. But not everyone has our circle.
So, be kind.
But hey, your kindness doesn’t mean you’re a doormat. It does not require you to make yourself smaller. It doesn’t quiet your voice against the hateful gale, the towering inferno of this dumpster fire around us.
Kindness is a super power that can change lives.
And corpses only serve to attract flies.
We have more important things to deal with, fam.
Love,
Your Mom
